Pentiamonds belong to the family of polyamonds. Each piece consists of five equilateral triangles joined edge to edge.

IIf both the front and back of the pentiamonds are used while puzzling, only four different pieces result. That is a bit too few for a puzzle.

However, if the front and back of the pieces are designed differently so that mirror-image shapes are treated as distinct, the set expands to six different pentiamonds. This extended set is the one considered here.

Six pentiamonds cover an area of 30 equilateral triangles. This allows several geometric shapes to be formed. These shapes are small and fairly simple, and the level of difficulty is not very high.

Three different 3D printing templates are available for download for the pentiamond puzzle.

The front and back of the pieces should be colored differently.

If a monochrome 3D printer is used, the filament must be changed manually during the printing process.
