Soma Cube – The Pieces
The Soma puzzle consists of 7 pieces. Six are made up of 4 cubes each, and the seventh consists of 3 cubes. That makes 27 unit cubes in total.

Soma Puzzles
Piet Hein invented the puzzle in 1933 during a lecture on quantum physics (the patent was granted in 1936). The puzzle has many variations.
The Soma Shapes overview presents a selection of Soma shapes and their solutions.

Soma Cube with a Checkerboard Pattern

There are 8 possible checkerboard patterns for the Soma pieces. However, the cube cannot be assembled using patterns 2, 4, 5, or 7. The desktop version of the Soma Solver can find solutions for arbitrary target shapes using all 8 patterns.

Online Soma Solver

The Online Soma Solver runs directly in your browser, with no installation or download required. You can create shapes with a few mouse clicks and check whether they can be solved. Compared with the desktop version, it has fewer features: it cannot calculate solutions for checkerboard Soma sets.
Solutions that differ only by rotation are counted only once. The interface is in English.
