The Trizoids belong to the family of polyzoids. The basic unit of the polyzoids is a trapezoid equal to one quarter of a regular hexagon, which fits into the grid shown.

There are: 7 Dizoids, 24 Trizoids, 147 Tetrazoids, 839 Pentazoids, and 5461 Hexazoids.

Because Trizoids fit into a honeycomb grid, up to sixfold rotational symmetry and six axes of reflection are possible. However, only shapes with at most threefold rotational symmetry and three axes of reflection are known.
