The base shape of the honeycomb tetrakites is a kite formed from one sixth of a regular hexagon. Each piece consists of four of these shapes and fits seamlessly into the honeycomb grid shown.

The honeycomb tetrakites belong to the family of honeycomb polykites.
There are 2 dikites, 4 trikites, 10 tetrakites, 27 pentakites, and 85 hexakites.

Shapes composed of 10 Tetrakites cover an area of 40 kite-shaped cells.

Only a few symmetric shapes are known for the complete set, and none of them have more than a single line of reflection.
