Nonagons – The Pieces
The nonagon grid is composed of two geometric elements: six-pointed stars and regular nonagons.
Each puzzle piece consists of a single star connected to between zero and six nonagons.
This construction yields 14 distinct pieces. Twelve of them are mirror-symmetric, while the remaining two form an asymmetric pair: they differ only by reflection but are otherwise identical in structure.

3D Printed Puzzles
In the download section, you will find templates for two different nonagon puzzles suitable for 3D printing:
Puzzle No. 1 uses all 14 distinct nonagon pieces. The resulting shape features two axes of reflection and exhibits twofold rotational symmetry.
Puzzle No. 2, by contrast, consists of only 13 distinct pieces, with one piece used twice. This configuration achieves the highest possible symmetry in the nonagon grid: it has sixfold rotational symmetry along with six axes of reflection.

The puzzles were created with the assistance of the solving program Polysolver.
