The Trihex grid consists of two geometric shapes: regular hexagons and equilateral triangles.

Each puzzle piece consists of one hexagon with zero to six triangles attached.

This gives 14 different puzzle pieces. Twelve are mirror-symmetric. The two remaining pieces are asymmetric mirror images of each other.

A 3D-printing template for Trihex Puzzle No. 1 is available in the “Resources & Downloads” section:

Puzzle No. 1 consists of 13 pieces in total; one piece type is used twice. The target shape has the greatest symmetry possible on the Trihex grid: it has sixfold rotational symmetry and six axes of reflection.

Puzzle No. 2 uses all 14 different Trihex pieces. The target shape has two axes of reflection and twofold rotational symmetry.
